The 1st Sino-Germany Solid-State Quantum Information Symposium (SGSSQIS) will focus on the outstanding challenges in the field of solid-state quantum information. It will bring together the most active researchers from Germany and China to review recent achievements, to discuss the current trends and future directions of research in solid-state implementations for quantum computing, and to promote exchanges of scientific knowledge and enhance the interactions between German and Chinese scientists. It is anticipated that this Symposium will promote collaborations between the two countries and therewith enable rapid progress that would not be possible without strong interactions between both countries. In addition, it will also present to young physicists interesting and exciting research directions based on the intellectual merit.
